Our apprenticeship offering

The Knorr-Bremse Engineering Technician Apprenticeship is provided in partnership with the EEF Technology Training Centre, who are manufacturing / engineering apprenticeship experts.

Based at the state-of-the-art EEF facility, the course delivers a programme of training focused on building the skills we need for the future, providing our apprentices with the foundation to excel.

About our scheme

Starting in September 2019, our apprenticeship will be completed over 3 / 4 years, with apprentices studying to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. Full details about each year of the scheme can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Year 1 - Residential package based at the EEF Training Centre, Birmingham:

  • Residence at Holiday Inn, with all other residential apprentices, 5 nights per week (Sun-Thurs)
  • Full breakfast and three course evening meal
  • Shuttle bus to and from the facility
  • Single / double room with en-suite
  • Leisure facilities, including a pool and gym

Years 2 & 3 - Knorr-Bremse Site Experience

You will be working at Knorr-Bremse sites at Melksham and Corsham, with block release to the EEF Training Centre.

Year 4 (if applicable): HNC / HND Study

Hard working, dedicated individuals will have the chance to continue studying to achieve their HNC / HND (foundation degree level) qualification.
