Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems (UK) Limited (KBRS) is the source for all Knorr-Bremse Rail Group products, systems and service support for customers based in the UK and Ireland.
KBRS is a Knorr-Bremse Centre of Competence (CoC) for metro brake control, being responsible for the design and development of world leading metro braking control technology such as Knorr-Bremse EP2002 Distributed Brake Control.
In addition KBRS also houses the Company's specialist platform screen systems division, Westinghouse Platform Screen Doors (WPSD) which serves global markets in conjunction with the division’s major manufacturing facility based in Guangzhou, China.
In 2010 Sigma Coachair joined the Knorr-Bremse Group with their UK operation becoming part of Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems (UK) Ltd. From their new base in Burton-on-Trent, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems (Burton) Limited offer original equipment supply and support, service and maintenance for Knorr-Bremse Group HVAC brand, Merak. In addition, KBRS (Burton) will continue to support both the Sigma and Air International installed base in the UK and Ireland as well as repairing and maintaining other HVAC rail brands.
